Voyager 1 Tracker

Voyager 1 and Voyager 2: A Journey Through Interstellar Space

Voyager 1 Reaches Interstellar Space

In 2012, Voyager 1 became the first spacecraft to cross the heliosphere, the boundary where the influence of our solar system ends and the influence of interstellar space begins. Voyager 1 has continued its journey through interstellar space, and is now over 15 billion miles from Earth.

Voyager 1 is equipped with a high-precision tracking tool that allows scientists to track its movement in real time. This tool has been used to create an interactive map that shows Voyager 1's location in the Milky Way galaxy. The map is available online, and allows users to zoom in and out to see Voyager 1's position relative to other stars and planets.

Real-Time Tracking of Voyager 1

The real-time tracking tool for Voyager 1 is available on the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) website. The tool allows users to see Voyager 1's distance from Earth in astronomical units (AU), miles, or kilometers. The tool also provides information about Voyager 1's speed and direction of travel.

In addition to the real-time tracking tool, JPL also provides a high-precision sky chart that uses real deep sky imagery to help locate Voyager 1 with a telescope. The sky chart is available online, and allows users to zoom in and out to see Voyager 1's position relative to the stars.
